Whether coming to Bangladesh from the Middle East, Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, or America, or going to receive a loved one at the airport, the biggest anxiety at that moment is knowing the exact arrival and departure time of the flight. Will the flight leave on time? Where exactly is the plane in the sky right now? Will landing be delayed due to bad weather or thick fog? A modern flight tracker helps track all these flight details with regularly updated, reliable data.

💡 Main purpose: In this documentary article, we reveal how to live-monitor the position of any aircraft using modern satellite and ADS-B technology flight radar, the official rules for tracking Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's dhaka airport flight schedule, searching Biman Bangladesh Airlines' biman flight status, and the scientific method of PNR verification for air tickets (Air Ticket BD) to protect expatriate brothers from brokers' fake ticket traps.

Chapter 1: Modern Flight-Tracking Technology and the Live Radar Ecosystem

How a huge commercial passenger aircraft, flying thousands of miles from the ground, can be tracked precisely every moment is one of the wonders of modern aviation science. In the past, the only way to track aircraft was military Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), which measured an aircraft's position by sending radio waves from the ground and reading the reflected signal. But this radar had no effectiveness over oceans, mountain ranges, or distant deserts. In today's era, live flight trackers and global flight radar systems are run entirely through satellite-connected ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) technology.

In ADS-B technology, every aircraft carries a special transponder (Mode-S, 1090 MHz). The aircraft's high-powered GPS receiver calculates its latitude, longitude, precise altitude above sea level (barometric altitude), ground speed, and heading from satellites every second. The transponder then automatically broadcasts that data via radio signal to the surrounding sky. Bangladesh's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) has set up multiple ADS-B ground stations in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Cox's Bazar, and Jessore. Whenever an aircraft enters Bangladeshi airspace, these ground receivers collect data within fractions of a second and send it to the central Air Traffic Control (ATC) and flight tracker bd servers.

Satellite ADS-B: Uninterrupted Tracking Over the Deep Bay of Bengal and Oceans

Ordinary ground-based ADS-B antennas had one big limitation: radio signals could not reach beyond about 250 to 300 nautical miles from the coast, over the sea. As a result, aircraft would often disappear from the radar screen over the Arabian Sea or the Bay of Bengal, a phenomenon called a "radar black hole." This crisis has been permanently eliminated by the space-based satellite ADS-B network. Aircraft signals are now received directly from space via the Iridium NEXT constellation of satellites orbiting in low Earth orbit (LEO) and relayed to ground servers within seconds. As a result, when an expatriate brother travels from Kuala Lumpur over the Bay of Bengal, or from Riyadh over the Arabian Sea, to Bangladesh, his family members can see the plane's exact position on their own mobile phone, every moment.

💡 The difference between a flight number and a PNR code:

Many ordinary passengers fail when they try to find an aircraft on radar using their booking's PNR code (e.g., R8K9P2). Remember, a PNR is the passenger's reservation database code, stored in the airline's internal system. A flight number (e.g., BG-348 or SV-804), on the other hand, is the official commercial route code for the flight path. Always use the flight number to track a live aircraft on a radar screen.

Technology type Signal source Coverage range Update speed Benefit for expatriates
Traditional radar (PSR/SSR) Ground-based antenna and echo 150–250 km (land) Once every 5–12 seconds Tracking only near the airport area
Ground ADS-B (Terrestrial ADS-B) Aircraft's 1090 MHz transponder 300–400 km (land) Once every 1 second Real-time, accurate updates for landing and takeoff
Space-based satellite ADS-B Space satellite network 100% global (including oceans) Instant, sub-second Seeing position over the ocean too, with no blind spots

Emergency Aviation Squawk Codes: Emergency Signals on the Radar Screen

On a flight tracker or radar screen, a special 4-digit code is seen beside every aircraft, called a "squawk code" in aviation terminology. This is essentially a unique identification number sent by the aircraft's transponder, which helps the air traffic controller understand what instructions the aircraft is operating under. However, there are 3 special four-digit emergency squawk codes in international aviation that are extremely important in radar tracking:

Squawk 7700: This is a general in-flight emergency. If a mechanical fault, engine failure, or serious passenger health crisis occurs mid-flight, the pilot sets this code. The aircraft is then highlighted in red on the radar screen, and nearby airports are instructed to prepare for an emergency landing on a top-priority basis.

Squawk 7600: Radio communication failure. If a power outage or equipment failure aboard the aircraft cuts off communication with the control tower, the pilot activates this signal.

Squawk 7500: Unlawful interference or hijack threat. When this code is activated, security forces worldwide go on immediate maximum alert.

Chapter 2: Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) Flight Schedule and Terminal Guide

ঢাকা শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর টার্মিনাল ১ ও ২ আগমন ও প্রস্থান প্রবাহ

The main hub of Bangladesh's international air connectivity is Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (IATA: DAC, ICAO: VGHS), located in Kurmitola in the capital. More than 150 flights from over 30 international airlines land and take off at this airport every day. This gateway is bustling day and night especially with the footsteps of remittance warriors coming from Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, Dammam, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, and Muscat in the Middle East, and Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in East Asia. Therefore, knowing the live dhaka airport flight schedule and the rules of Shahjalal Airport flights is extremely essential for expatriates and the relatives who come to receive them.

Shahjalal Airport's international operations are mainly run through Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Its capacity is increasing several-fold with the launch of the new, modern Terminal 3. An international passenger must go through certain specific steps from landing in Dhaka until leaving the airport. When relatives come to the airport after checking the live flight schedule, they need to know that a passenger does not come out immediately after the aircraft touches down; crossing the taxiway, docking at the aerobridge, immigration, and baggage handover usually require at least 45 to 90 minutes after landing.

Immigration Line and Modern E-Gate Facility

After landing at Dhaka airport, the passengers' first formal step is passport and visa verification at the immigration desk. There are currently three types of immigration channels at the airport: the line for ordinary Bangladeshi passport holders, a channel for foreign nationals and diplomats, and a special help desk for elderly passengers and expatriate remittance warriors. Those who have a modern chip-embedded e-Passport can complete immigration in the blink of an eye via fingerprint and facial scan using the automatic e-gate, without standing in any line. However, those holding an MRP (machine-readable passport) must go to a designated officer's counter to get an arrival stamp.

Baggage Claim Carousels (Belts 1 to 8) and Customs Green Channel Rules

After clearing immigration, passengers enter the baggage claim hall on the ground floor, where there are baggage belts numbered 1 to 8. Which flight's baggage will arrive on which belt is displayed with the flight number on the hall's large digital screen. It often takes somewhat extra time to unload the carton boxes and overweight baggage of passengers on Gulf routes. After collecting baggage, the last step is customs checking. According to the duty-free goods list, every passenger may bring up to 100 grams of gold ornaments for personal use without any duty. However, if bringing a gold bar, it must be declared in the Red Channel and the government-set duty paid. If there are no commercial goods or extra electronics, passengers can come out directly through the Green Channel.

International route Top airlines Average flight duration Regular Dhaka arrival peak hours Terminal
Riyadh (RUH) → Dhaka (DAC) Biman Bangladesh, Saudia 5 hours 30 minutes Noon 12:00 – 4:30 PM Terminal 1
Dubai (DXB) → Dhaka (DAC) Emirates, flydubai, Biman 4 hours 45 minutes 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM Terminal 2
Doha (DOH) → Dhaka (DAC) Qatar Airways, Biman 5 hours 15 minutes 3:00 AM – 2:00 PM Terminal 1
Kuala Lumpur (KUL) → Dhaka (DAC) Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Biman 3 hours 50 minutes 10:30 PM – 2:00 AM Terminal 2

Immediate Remedies at the Airport If Baggage Is Delayed or Damaged

One of the biggest crises for expatriates on Gulf-route flights at Dhaka airport is waiting a long time at the baggage belt and still not getting one's own bag or carton box. Sometimes, in the rush of changing planes at a transit airport, a bag fails to make it onto the main flight. In such a situation, never exit through the customs gate. Right beside the baggage belt inside the terminal is the "Lost and Found" help desk of the relevant airline and Biman Bangladesh ground handling.

Go there and show the baggage claim tag attached to the back of your ticket or on your passport. The officer on duty will scan your tag's barcode and search their global WorldTracer system. You will then be given a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) form to fill out. This will have a specific tracking number for your file. Usually, if the bag arrives in Dhaka on a subsequent flight within the next 24 to 48 hours, the airline authority delivers it to the passenger's address at their own responsibility, or calls and requests that the passenger come to the airport to collect it.

Chapter 3: Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Live Flight Status on Gulf Routes

The national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, is not just a mode of transport for expatriates — it is a feeling of a piece of homeland abroad. Millions of Middle East-based expatriate laborers choose Biman Bangladesh as their first choice for coming and going. Biman's modern fleet includes the world's most advanced Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners (such as Akash Beena, Hangsa Balaka, Gangchil, Ochin Pakhi, and Sonar Tori), the massive Boeing 777-300ER, and Boeing 737-800 aircraft. So knowing the position of the national flag carrier in the sky through the Biman Tracker and searching biman flight status is a daily routine for expatriates.

Biman operates multiple regular flights to Bangladesh from various Middle Eastern countries every day. For example, BG-340 and BG-350 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; BG-336 from Jeddah; BG-338 from Medina; and BG-354 from Dammam. BG-348 from Dubai and BG-328 from Abu Dhabi in the UAE. BG-326 from Doha, Qatar; BG-344 from Kuwait City; and BG-322 from Muscat, Oman. In East Asia, BG-382 on the Kuala Lumpur route and BG-384 on the Singapore route. Tracking the live status of all these probashi flights on a radar screen involves two things working together: the aircraft's commercial flight number and its ICAO callsign (e.g., the callsign for BG348 is BBC348).

Gulf Airlines vs. Biman Bangladesh: Live Radar Tracking Comparison

In addition to Biman, leading international airlines of the Middle East also carry millions of Bangladeshi expatriates. For example, Saudi Arabia's Saudia (SV), Dubai's Emirates (EK) and budget carrier flydubai (FZ), Sharjah's Air Arabia (G9), Qatar's Qatar Airways (QR), Kuwait's Kuwait Airways (KU) and Jazeera Airways (J9), and Oman's SalamAir (OV). Every aircraft of these international carriers has an active satellite transponder, which makes it possible to directly observe their speed and cruising altitude in real time on international flight radar systems.

Understanding Biman Flights' Cruising Altitude and Descent Profile

Watching on radar how a commercial aircraft travels through the sky shows that after takeoff, an aircraft climbs for about 20 to 30 minutes (climb phase) to reach its desired altitude. On international routes, aircraft typically fly at about 850 to 950 kilometers per hour, taking advantage of jet stream winds at altitudes of 36,000 to 41,000 feet. About 30 to 40 minutes before landing, the "Top of Descent" (TOD) begins. The aircraft then gradually reduces altitude, enters Dhaka's airspace, and connects with the runway's instrument landing system.

Airline Flight code Main route Aircraft model Tracking reliability
Biman Bangladesh BG / BBC Jeddah, Riyadh, Dubai, London Boeing 787 Dreamliner / 777 99.5% (satellite ADS-B)
Saudia SV / SVA Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina → Dhaka Boeing 777-300ER / 787 99.9% real-time radar
Emirates EK / UAE Dubai (DXB) → Dhaka (DAC) Boeing 777-300ER 100% live global positioning
Qatar Airways QR / QTR Doha (DOH) → Dhaka (DAC) Boeing 787 / Airbus A350 100% satellite integration
Air Arabia G9 / ABY Sharjah (SHJ) → Dhaka / Chittagong Airbus A320 / A321neo 99.8% real-time tracking

Boeing 787 Dreamliner vs. 777-300ER: Technology and Comfort on Gulf Routes

Two main models of wide-body aircraft primarily operate on Biman Bangladesh Airlines' Gulf routes: the Boeing 787 Dreamliner (787-8/9) and the Boeing 777-300ER. On long journeys of five to six hours, there are some notable technical differences in passenger comfort between these two models. Because the Dreamliner is made entirely of composite carbon-fiber material, its cabin can maintain air pressure equivalent to an altitude of 6,000 feet above sea level (compared to 8,000 feet on conventional metal aircraft). As a result, passengers feel far less headache, eye irritation, or fatigue even after a long flight.

On the other hand, during the peak Hajj and Umrah season and before Eid, Biman operates the massive Boeing 777-300ER to carry extra passengers. It can carry up to 419 passengers at once, and because its cargo capacity is very large, it is especially effective for carrying expatriates' heavy goods and cartons. Simply tapping on the live Biman Tracker screen lets you see whether your scheduled flight is being operated on a Dreamliner or a Triple-Seven aircraft.

Using an ordinary browser to visit any foreign flight tracker website reveals a mass of heavy graphics, pop-up ads, high data cost, and slow speed. Especially on weak 2G or 3G networks in villages, the page often won't even load. Many apps also demand a steep subscription fee or credit card for minimal information. To end this real suffering for millions of ordinary brothers working abroad and their family members at home, Probashi App's live flight tracker has been built entirely ad-free with domestic technology.

Through Probashi App, a user simply enters the flight number on their ticket and searches, without any complex technical jargon, to instantly see which country the aircraft is currently flying over, how many hours and minutes remain until landing at Dhaka airport, the aircraft's altitude, and the estimated time of arrival (ETA). Because it is built with very lightweight code, it runs smoothly on any ordinary Android smartphone and uses minimal internet data.

Smart Push Notifications: Automatic Alerts from Takeoff to Landing

Once a specific flight is saved as a favorite in Probashi App, relatives no longer need to keep opening the app repeatedly. The app's background algorithm automatically monitors the flight and sends push notifications to the mobile home screen at every important moment. For example: when the aircraft successfully took off from Middle Eastern soil (takeoff alert), when the aircraft entered Bangladeshi airspace mid-flight (airspace entry), when preparations for landing on the runway began, and when the aircraft safely touched down on Dhaka's soil (touchdown confirmation).

Offline Flight Schedule Cache: A Guide Without Internet Mid-Flight

When traveling by air, ordinary internet doesn't work once the phone is in "flight mode." The cost of satellite Wi-Fi per megabyte on a plane is sky-high. As a solution to this problem, Probashi App includes offline cache technology. Refreshing once before boarding saves the entire weekly flight schedule and airport terminal guide for Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet airports to your phone's local storage. As a result, you can read terminal layouts, immigration checklists, and baggage rules offline even while flying.

How to live-track your flight on Probashi App (4 easy steps)

Step 1 (search box): Open Probashi App, click the "Flight Tracker" option, and enter the flight number on your ticket (e.g., BG348 or SV804). Step 2 (radar map view): Tap on the aircraft from the search results, and the aircraft's current speed and altitude will be shown on a live 3D satellite map. Step 3 (turn on alert notification): Click the bell icon on the screen and set "Track Flight," so your phone automatically rings when the aircraft takes off or lands. Step 4 (offline save): Tap the "Download Schedule" button once to save the entire weekly schedule to your own phone.

Outside Dhaka, Bangladesh's two extremely busy and important international airports are Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport (IATA: CGP, ICAO: VGEG) and Sylhet's Osmani International Airport (IATA: ZYL, ICAO: VGSY). Millions of expatriates from the greater Chittagong region (Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Feni, Comilla, Noakhali) and Sylhet division (Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Habiganj) live in various countries around the world. These two airports play an immense role in ensuring that these expatriates can travel directly to their own divisional cities without going to Dhaka.

Biman Bangladesh, flydubai, Air Arabia, SalamAir, and US-Bangla Airlines regularly operate direct flights from Chittagong's Shah Amanat Airport to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, and Muscat in the Middle East. Businessmen and remittance warriors from Chittagong in particular can land directly in Chittagong from Sharjah or Dubai. On the other hand, Sylhet Osmani International Airport is the lifeline for expatriate Sylheti brothers and sisters living in the UK. Biman Bangladesh Airlines operates direct London Heathrow → Sylhet and Manchester → Sylhet flights using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Direct Umrah and Hajj flights from Jeddah and Medina also land in Sylhet.

Connecting Flights vs. Direct Flights: Transit and Baggage Tracking

Many people travel to Chittagong or Sylhet via a domestic connecting flight through Dhaka. It's important to remember one crucial rule for connecting flights: if your international ticket is booked on a single PNR, large baggage booked from the Middle East usually goes straight through to the final destination (Chittagong or Sylhet). But the passenger must disembark at Dhaka airport to complete international immigration and change terminals to board the domestic flight. Using a live flight tracker bd, transit passengers can see, even before landing in Dhaka, whether their next domestic flight is ready on time.

Airport International direct routes Regular carriers Weekly flight count Special benefit
Chittagong (CGP) Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha Air Arabia, flydubai, Biman, US-Bangla 35+ international flights Fast customs and baggage clearance facility
Sylhet (ZYL) London Heathrow, Manchester, Jeddah, Medina Biman Bangladesh Airlines 12+ direct flights UK expatriates land directly in Sylhet

International Immigration and Direct Baggage Clearance in Sylhet and Chittagong

For flights coming directly from abroad to Chittagong Shah Amanat and Sylhet Osmani international airports, passengers' entire immigration and customs process is completed at that airport itself. Since there is no transit in Dhaka, there is no hassle of standing in a long line, and on average, baggage can be collected and the airport left within just 30 to 40 minutes.

However, for those who go to Sylhet or Chittagong via a domestic connecting flight through Dhaka, passport control (immigration) must be completed upon landing at Dhaka airport. If the baggage is directly booked through an international airline, it is automatically loaded onto the domestic flight, and the passenger claims their baggage after reaching their own divisional city. Checking your connecting flight's departure gate and delay status on live flight tracker bd software before landing in Dhaka saves unnecessary worry and rushing around.

Chapter 6: Fog, Bad Weather, and Flight Delays — Expatriates' Rights and What to Do at the Airport

ফ্লাইট বিলম্ব ও গেট পরিবর্তন স্মার্ট পুশ নোটিফিকেশন কার্ড

In Bangladesh's winter season (especially December, January, and February), airports are covered in a blanket of thick fog from midnight until morning. Even if Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's runway has an active CAT-II instrument landing system (ILS), if the Runway Visual Range (RVR) drops extremely low, it becomes impossible for a pilot to land safely on the runway. In such situations, aircraft carrying hundreds of passengers, coming from the Middle East or far-off countries, are forced into a long holding pattern over Dhaka's sky, or are diverted to the nearest alternate airport.

Alternate Airport Diversion: What Happens in Kolkata, Sylhet, and Chittagong?

When Dhaka's runway is closed due to fog, air traffic control sends aircraft to Sylhet Osmani Airport, Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India. Many expatriate brothers become extremely alarmed when their flight goes to another country. Remember, under international civil aviation law, this is a completely normal emergency safety protocol. With the help of extra aviation fuel on board, the aircraft lands safely at the alternate airport. Passengers are usually kept on the aircraft or taken to a transit lounge. Once the fog clears, the aircraft refuels and returns to Dhaka.

Passengers' International Legal Rights in Case of Flight Delay (Montreal Convention)

Under the international air travel agreement (Montreal Convention 1999) and the rules of Bangladesh's Civil Aviation Authority, passengers gain certain specific civic rights when a flight is unusually delayed:

Delay of 2 hours or more: The airline authority is obligated to provide every passenger with free drinking water, tea/coffee, and light snacks. Delay of 4 hours or more: Passengers must be provided a suitable heavy hot meal (lunch or dinner) and free international phone calls or free internet access. Delay of more than 6 hours or overnight delay: The airline must ensure, at its own expense, a standard transit hotel room and free bus shuttle for passengers. If the flight is fully cancelled: The passenger may take a full 100% refund of the ticket price, or has the right to a free re-issue on the next convenient flight.

Instrument Landing System (ILS Cat-I and Cat-II): The Science of Runway Visibility in Fog

To understand why aircraft can't land in fog, it's important to understand the runway's Instrument Landing System (ILS). ILS is a special radio signal system that helps an aircraft in the sky maintain the runway centerline (localizer) and a precise landing angle (glide slope), with the help of ground-based antennas.

Under Cat-I systems, runway visibility must be at least 550 meters, and if the pilot descends to 200 feet without seeing the runway with their own eyes, landing must be aborted. On the other hand, in the Cat-II system now upgraded at Dhaka airport, landing is possible even with 350 meters of visibility and a 100-foot decision height. However, if fog is so thick that visibility drops to 50 or 100 meters, no aircraft can land safely except a fully automatic Cat-IIIB system. For the sake of passengers' utmost safety, pilots then divert the aircraft to an alternate airport rather than take the risk.

Chapter 7: Preventing Fake Ticket Fraud and an Air Ticket Verification Checklist

ঢাকা এয়ারপোর্টে শীতকালীন কুয়াশা ও বিকল্প বিমানবন্দর ডাইভারশন রাডার ম্যাপ

Every year, thousands of simple expatriate brothers are ruined after falling into the trap of dishonest travel agencies and local fraudulent brokers. Brokers hand ordinary expatriates a fake ticket printed from a computer and swindle hundreds of thousands of taka. Many expatriates arrive at the airport to get a boarding pass and learn that their ticket is completely fake, or that the ticket was only kept "on hold" for 24 hours and was never later confirmed. Many are even forced to return to their villages, shedding tears right at the airport. A modern flight tracker and PNR verification system can protect you 100% from this kind of fraud.

5-Point Air Ticket Verification Checklist (Ticket Verification Blueprint)

After buying an air ticket (Air Ticket BD) from a broker or any agency, before paying the money, check the following 5 things yourself with your smartphone:

PNR code verification: Take the 6-character alphanumeric code on the ticket, go directly to the relevant airline's own official website, and search under the "Manage Booking" option using your own last name. Confirmed status check: The ticket status on the airline's system must clearly read "CONFIRMED" or "TICKETED." If the status shows "On Hold," "Waitlisted," or "Pending Payment," the ticket is not yet genuine. 13-digit e-ticket number: Every genuine ticket has a 13-digit international unique number (e.g., Biman Bangladesh: starts with 098, Saudia: 065, Emirates: 176, Qatar: 157). This is the official invoice code. Approved baggage weight: The baggage field on the ticket must clearly state how many kilos of luggage are allowed (e.g., 2PC x 23KG, or 30KG, or 40KG). Many brokers fool expatriates by buying cheap tickets with less baggage weight. Exact match between traveler and passport: The English spelling of the name, passport number, and date of birth on the ticket must match the passport letter for letter. Even a single letter's mistake will prevent a boarding pass from being issued at the airport.

Warning Regarding E-Ticket Fare Class and Date-Change Penalties

When buying an air ticket, most expatriates only notice the ticket's total price, but don't read the ticket's sub-class or fare rules. Even within ordinary economy class, there are multiple tiers, such as "Super Saver" (O, Q, G class), "Economy Saver" (K, M, L class), and "Economy Flexi" (Y, B class). Although Super Saver tickets are relatively cheaper, changing their date incurs a steep change penalty, and in some cases the ticket is completely non-refundable.

If you're not sure whether your holiday will be pushed back, or whether your kafeel will approve leave late, it is wise to always buy a flexible-fare ticket for a slightly higher price. Understanding the travel agent's written rules on "cancellation penalty" and "date change fee" right after buying the ticket ensures expatriates' legal protection.

আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর আগমন ও ব্যাগেজ ক্লেইম বেল্ট প্রবাহ

Below are documented answers, based on aviation experts' opinions, to the common questions and doubts expatriates have about air travel, flight tracking, and airport immigration:

❓ How does a flight tracker work, and how accurate is it?

A flight tracker essentially works through the combination of an automatic ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) transponder attached to the aircraft and GPS satellites placed in space. The aircraft broadcasts its current latitude, longitude, altitude above sea level, and airspeed as a message every second. Ground-based ADS-B antennas and low-Earth-orbit satellites receive this signal and send it to a server instantly, which appears on a live map in the flight tracker app. This is 99.9% real-time and accurate. ❓ How can I check today's flight schedule for Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport online? Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's (DAC) flight schedule can be checked through three trusted means: first, from Probashi App's live flight dashboard, where arrival and departure schedules are updated directly; second, from the Civil Aviation Authority's (CAAB) and Dhaka Airport's official web portal; and third, by directly searching using the relevant airline's flight number (such as BG-348 or SV-804). ❓ Can travelers see Biman Bangladesh Airlines' flight status live? Yes, the live status of all of Biman Bangladesh Airlines' domestic and international flights can be seen. Entering the flight number or route (e.g., Riyadh to Dhaka) in the "Flight Status" option on Biman's official portal shows the scheduled time and expected arrival time. Our live flight tracker module also directly tracks the live position of Boeing 787 Dreamliner or 777 aircraft in the sky. ❓ Can an ordinary passenger track their flight on their own phone without internet while it's in the sky? When an aircraft is flying, ordinary mobile network (4G/5G) doesn't work. However, through Probashi App's offline cache feature, you can save the entire week's flight schedule, terminal guide, and airline helpline to local memory before you even board. As a result, you can see your flight's route and necessary information mid-flight without any internet connection or extra dollar cost. ❓ What should passengers do if their Dhaka airport flight is diverted to another country due to fog? When runway visibility drops due to thick winter fog, flights are diverted as an alternative to Chittagong, Sylhet, or Kolkata, India. In such a situation, stay calm and listen to the cabin crew's instructions. Under international aviation law (Montreal Convention), subject to refueling and the weather returning to normal, the aircraft will be brought back to Dhaka. In case of a long delay, the airline is obligated to provide passengers with free food, drinks, and, where necessary, transit hotel facilities. ❓ What is the main difference between a flight's PNR and its e-ticket number? A PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 6-character alphanumeric booking code (e.g., A7B8C9) that identifies a passenger's booking in the airline's reservation system. An e-ticket number, on the other hand, is a permanent 13-digit official financial transaction code (e.g., starting with 098 for Biman). A PNR can change if a booking is cancelled, but the ticket's 13-digit number proves the ticket's genuine ownership. ❓ How can I verify from home whether an air ticket bought from a broker is genuine or fake? To avoid a broker's fraud, take the ticket's 6-character PNR and your passport's last name, go directly to the relevant airline's official website's "Manage Booking" option, and search. If it shows your name, the correct flight number, baggage weight (e.g., 30/40 kg), and a status of "Confirmed" or "Ticketed," then the ticket is 100% genuine. If it shows "On Hold" or "record not found," the ticket is fake or unconfirmed. ❓ How long before an international flight's departure is it mandatory to report to the airport? For any international flight from Bangladesh to the Middle East, Europe, or Asia, arriving at the airport at least 4 hours before departure is mandatory. Especially at Dhaka Shahjalal Airport, given the extra passenger load, immigration queues, and BMET smart card verification, 4 hours is extremely safe. The counter usually closes for good exactly 60 to 75 minutes before departure. ❓ How do I claim compensation if my baggage is lost or damaged at the baggage belt? If you don't find your bag at the baggage belt, report it at the relevant airline's "Lost & Found / Baggage Services" desk located in the arrival hall, before leaving airport customs or the terminal. Show your baggage tag slip there and immediately fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) form. Keep a copy for yourself. Under the Montreal Convention, the airline is legally obligated to find your baggage or pay compensation. ❓ Is the flight-tracking feature in Probashi App completely free to use? Yes, Probashi App's flight tracker feature is completely free and open to everyone without any hidden subscription fee.
